About Us

Safe, play-centered, quality care. A ministry of CalvaryPHX.

Faith-Based

We desire that every family that enters our doors will know that they are loved, valued, and cared for. We believe this is demonstrated through the life of Jesus Christ. Compassionate care is at the heart of what we do to serve our community.

Play-Centered

“Play and learning go hand-in-hand.” They are not separate activities; they are intertwined like lectures and labs. Our curriculum is established on this fact so that we can develop children’s physical, social, creative, and intellectual skills effectively and holistically.

Quality Care

Once a child feels safe they can begin to learn. We provide an early education to children that promotes safety and security while implementing the Quality First standards students need as a foundation for their learning.

The CalvaryPHX Central Campus

As a ministry of CalvaryPHX, the Early Learning Center aims to support the surrounding community by creating stability through safe, intentional, quality care and early education to children from birth to five years.

Located off the west side of I-17 (between Cactus and Thunderbird), the CalvaryPHX central church campus is positioned to provide stability and safety to families in the surrounding community through affordable, quality care. Our heart for people has led us to focus local outreach efforts towards meeting a foundational need of the community.

  • Love & Hope – CalvaryPHX is here to help

What we believe about caring for children

Our Mission

To provide safe, nurturing child care that helps children develop, gives families stability, and strengthens the communities around them.

Our Philosophy

When a child’s basic needs are met, they are ready and able to learn. So we start with providing children with the security they need to be the children God created them to be. Then we introduce learning through a modern “play-based” approach that effectively engages a child’s curiosity and natural ability to learn.

Our Commitment

Children in our care will be loved and protected by staff that are committed to our vision for thriving families. Beyond childcare, we are dedicated to providing students with a foundation to educational, social, emotional, and physical development that goes beyond the classroom: lifelong learning to help them become the young men and women they were made to be.

Our Promise

Every healthy relationship is built on trust. Therefore, we promise to partner with parents and caretakers to ensure a proper level of trust is always maintained. It is important to us that families are confident in our care of their children at all times.

Our Values

We are a faith-based organization, which means we are led by the values of our faith. Therefore we are compelled by the life of Jesus Christ to love people unconditionally, to care for them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Our heart for the surrounding community is inspired by His example to care for people and live life with them.

Our Leadership

Dawn Payne

Director

Dawn has worked in Early Childhood Education for 20 years in every capacity, from preschool teacher to director. She and her husband share six children and a granddaughter. Watching children learn and families grow is her passion! As a working mom, she knows the challenges of work/life balance and appreciates how difficult it can be to fulfill multiple roles on a day-to-day basis. As an educational leader, Dawn has a strong desire to not only empower children with the confidence they need to succeed, but to also encourage parents as they navigate the crucial early years of development.

Jeannine Denny

Assistant Director

Jeannine is an educator with a degree in Early Childhood Education from GCU and has worked in the public school system teaching community preschool. Jeannine also served as the Director of CityKids for CityView Church in Phoenix for 6 years, and in the Outreach department at CalvaryPHX, working closely with several WESD schools. She is married with three young children. Jeannine has a heart to see every child grow up within a safe community that sees them as valuable and cherished just the way they are.
